News Brief, 8 October 2026: AI for Customer Support, Job Hunting and Travel; DNS Prepares for a Key Rollover

Guides from ElevenLabs and Gemini show ways to apply AI to customer support, conversation data processing and personal needs. Meanwhile, the root DNS signing key rollover schedule calls for checks by resolver operators, and MiniMax presents an identity system inspired by vitality and movement.

ElevenLabs offers a guide to multichannel customer support automation

ElevenLabs describes AI customer support automation as handling interactions with minimal human intervention across phone, SMS, email and other channels. The system needs to understand intent, retrieve information and respond concisely; when choosing software, businesses should consider CRM integration, multichannel support and latency. The article reports that ElevenAgents helps Klarna resolve issues up to 10 times faster while serving 35 million US customers by phone; Rohlik automates 90% of customer communications; and Getmobil achieves a 75% first-contact resolution rate, with costs 60% lower. These examples, cited by ElevenLabs, illustrate how automation allows staff to focus on complex cases.

ElevenLabs turns customer conversations into structured data

In its guide to conversation intelligence, ElevenLabs outlines a workflow of recording, transcribing and then using AI to extract sentiment, topics, action items and objections. The approach has two layers: accurate transcription and interpretation of meaning. For sales calls, the system can produce text with timestamps and speaker labels, flagging pricing questions, competitors mentioned and agreed next steps. Summaries and action items can be entered into a CRM without manual input. ElevenLabs emphasizes that the quality of the analysis depends on transcription accuracy; according to the company, Scribe v2 and Scribe v2 Realtime support real-time and batch processing, multiple languages, entity recognition and CRM integration.

Gemini helps with resume writing and interview practice

Gemini helps job seekers create resume and cover letter templates tailored to their career goals through Canvas. Users can use Gemini for free to write their experience section, correct grammar, format a resume or draft a letter based on a job description and their background. On mobile devices, Gemini Live allows users to practice interview answers aloud and receive real-time feedback, covering behavioral questions, the STAR method, tone and phrasing. Gemini also helps users analyze their strengths, explore career fields and develop job-search strategies based on their skills and interests. These capabilities range from preparing application materials to practicing conversations; however, availability and compatibility may vary, and some features require users to be at least 18 years old.

Gemini combines travel service searches with itinerary planning

Users can describe their desired trip so Gemini can find and compare flight and hotel options in real time through Google services. The assistant can also create customized itineraries, group activities by area and answer questions about customs, etiquette or lesser-known destinations. When plans change, users can ask for suggestions to be displayed on Google Maps. At the destination, Gemini Live supports camera sharing to translate signs and menus or learn about the history of landmarks. The introductory page describes Gemini as a free AI assistant; the distinction to keep in mind is that the tool helps users find and compare services, while bookings are completed on the site to which Gemini directs them.

Root DNS signing key rollover scheduled for 11 October 2026

The root DNS system is scheduled to undergo its second key-signing key rollover on 11 October 2026. KSK-2024, identifier 38696, will replace KSK-2017, identifier 20326, to sign the DNSKEY record set. DNSSEC-validating resolvers must trust the new key before the transition; otherwise, working websites could become inaccessible. Most website operators do not need to make changes; resolver operators should check for KSK-2024 and follow their provider's instructions if it is missing. Cloudflare says its domain DNS, 1.1.1.1 and Gateway DNS already trust the new key, so users do not need to take action. The company provides a test that queries the browser's resolver about the new key. Before accepting the key, a resolver waits at least 30 days, continually checking the signed DNSKEY record set.

MiniMax presents a brand identity inspired by vitality

MiniMax's brand identity centers on vitality, drawing inspiration from nature, life, growth and movement. The system includes guidelines for the logo, layout grids and typography, using Libre Baskerville, Outfit and DM Sans. The official tagline “Intelligence with Everyone” may currently be presented only in four layouts; color gradients must also follow the guidelines. The illustration language combines modular geometry, lines that convey movement and character elements. Initiated by the MiniMax brand team, the development of this identity establishes a unified framework for how the brand is expressed, from layout and typography to color and imagery.
